American Conservative Union Grades Gene Taylor A 24 Out Of 100
You and I have heard Gene Taylor say over and over that he’s one of the most conservative members of Congress. I don’t know about you, but I never bought that lie “fib” because I track his voting record, the positions he takes on issues.
But what about the 150,000+ hard working Mississippians that take him at his word? Gene Taylor sounds conservative when he’s at a townhall meeting in front of the folks that he’s accountable to and he runs on a conservative platform in one of America’s most conservative districts. Why shouldn’t you take him at his word.
Thankfully, because you and I have to work 40, 50, 60 hours a week or more to help finance the ever-increasing needs wants of our Federal government, there are independent, unbiased organizations that follow and report on the voting records of our Congress members.
The most trusted and respected of of these watchdog organizations, The American Conservative Union, has been holding Legislators accountable since 1964. Their findings on our congressman may come as a total shock to you. Turns out, Gene Taylor isn’t nearly as conservative as he leads us to believe.
In fact, according to the ACU, Gene Taylor only scored a 24 out of 100. Yikes! My Grandma would tell Gene to go out to the edge of the woods and pick out a good switch for telling a fib like that.
This, in one of the most conservative congressional districts in America? To put this paradox into perspective, two of the most out-spoken conservatives in Congress, Michele Bachmann of Minnesota and John Boehner of Ohio (Taylor voted against Boehner for Speaker of the House and voted for Nancy Pelosi instead. I guess Boehner was too conservative for Taylor.), scored a 100 and a 92, respectfully.
Are you telling me that Minnesota and Ohio are a more conservative group of people than South Mississippi? You and I know better. The fact is that Gene Taylor is a moderate Democrat. And the fact is that we deserve and demand representation in Washington DC that reflects America’s most conservative congressional district.
Gene, fool us once, shame on you. Fool us for 20 years, shame on us!

(8 votes, average: 4.88 out of 5)
Seen any "2010 candidate" or FireGeneTaylor.com signs or stickers around Mississippi's 4th district?
Gene Taylor elected Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House. That puts her 3rd in line to be our President.
Gene Taylor elected Barney Frank as Chairman of the Financial Services committee, even after the failure and bailout of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac cost taxpayers billions and billions of dollars.
Gene Taylor was given the chance to investigate Charlie Rangel for tax evasion and remove him from his powerful position as Chairman of the House Ways and Means committee, Gene Taylor sided with the rest of the Democrats and voted NOT to investigate Charlie Rangel.
A conservative score of 24 !!! THAT’S PATHETIC !!!
When I was in school 24 out of 100 was FAILURE….a big fat “F” ! Thanks, Gene! Ya’ll go look at the Conservative Union website….I don’t think Gene ever made it past 72 or so….barely passing, and his lifetime score is an “F”. Folks, when are the people of the 4th District gonna “wise up” !!!
